Trip planning

Day 1 Origin – Marrakech

At the agreed time transfer from Marrakech airport to the hotel.

Day 2 Marrakech – Kasbah Telouet – Ighrem N’Ougdal – Ait Ben Hadou – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, we leave en route from Marrakech towards Ouarzazate.

The route is approximately 200 km long and runs along a mountain road full of places of scenic and architectural interest.

We will make several stops at :.

  • Kasbah Telouet also known for the Glaoui Palace.
  • Tizi n’Tichka, is the highest road crossing in North Africa, at 2,260 meters high. Stunning views.
  • Ighrem n-Ougdal, a fortified building traditional Berber also known as Agadir. Used as a collective warehouse.
  • Ait Ben Haddou, the best preserved and most representative Berber kasbah in Morocco. Declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1987. The fortified city, or kasbah of Ait-Ben-Haddou. It was founded at the time of the caravan route that circulated between the Sahara desert and the current city of Marrakech.

After visiting Ait-Ben-Haddou, we will go to Ouarzazate. Night at the hotel.

Day 3 Ouarzazate – Skoura – Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges

After breakfast we will go to the oasis of Skoura. An extensive palm grove famous for its many Berber-origin adobe Kasbahs. We will follow the Route of the Kasbahs along the road that runs through the valley of the Dades river. Near the town of Boulmane and following the course of the river, we will enter the vertiginous Dades gorge. We will see how the valley narrows and forms a beautiful gorge in the Atlas Mountains.

On the brownstone walls of the gorges, there are dozens of Kasbahs and also unique geological formations. One of the most beautiful views is from the Tamlalt viewpoint.

At the exit of the gorges, we take the route towards the palm grove of the Todra river valley. Located a short distance from the town of Tinehir. Following the road, we will reach the end of the valley to admire the famous Todra Gorges. A canyon with walls over 300 meters high that the Todra River has excavated for millennia.

Night in hotel.

Day 4 Todra Gorges – Jbel Saghro – Nkoub – Zagora

In the early morning, after having breakfast. We will head towards the Saghro Mountains. An alternative route not frequented by tourists. A spectacular landscape of basaltic volcanic origin. Where it is common to find nomadic shepherds from the Ait Atta tribe.

We will arrive in the town of Nkoub and from there we will go to the Draa River Oasis. One of the largest palm groves in Morocco. We will arrive in the city of Zagora, better known as “The door of the Desert”. The southernmost city in the entire country. Accommodation at the hotel.

Day 5 Zagora – Tamegroute – Mhamid – Chigaga

We leave Zagora and arrive in the city of Tamegroute. We will visit the Zaouia Nasiriyya and its famous library, one of the most valuable in North Africa.

The library has thousands of manuscripts over a hundred years old, all original, some bound in gazelle skin.

We will also visit the pottery center. A cooperative of potters who make green pottery. Finally, we will visit the old underground ksar of Ouled Driss, dating from the 17th century. Currently inhabited by approximately 150 people.

We follow the route towards Isfoul until we reach the town of M’hamid.

After lunch, we head towards the Chigaga dunes to admire the sunset. Dinner and accommodation in a tent in the middle of the desert.

Day 6 Chigaga – Lake Iriki – Taznaght – Ouarzazate

We will get up early to see the sunrise over the dunes. After a good breakfast, we will go for Foum Zguid, camel breeding area and oasis cultivation. We arrive at Lake Iriki. a Natural Reserve where species of gazelles, foxes and a place of migratory birds live. A desert landscape full of acacias and nomadic shepherds, typical of southern Morocco.

We will continue the route to the city of Ouarzazate, where we will spend the night in a hotel.

Day 7 Ouarzazate – Fint Oasis – Tifoultoute – Marrakech

After breakfast, we will leave from Ouarzazate to Marrakech. We will make several stops on the route.

  • The oasis of Fint, made up of 4 villages, Timoula, Belghizi, Wangarf and Taherbilte. It is a green oasis located in a deep valley where time seems to stand still.
  • Kasbah de Tifoultoute is one of the most important buildings in Morocco.

We will continue the road to the exotic city of Marrakech, where we will arrive in the afternoon / evening. Accommodation in a hotel.

Day 8 Marrakech – Origin

Free day in the city.

At the agreed time, transfer to the airport and end of our services.
