Trip planning

Day 1
Ouarzazate

Welcome and hotel accommodation. Ouarzazateis the strategic point to discover “The Great South of Morocco, land of the Imazighen people”.

Day 2
Ouarzazate –Dades Gorges –Todra Gorges

After breakfast,we will go to the oasis of Skoura. An extensive palm grove famous for its many Kasbahs of Berber origin . We will follow the Route of the Kasbahs along the road that runs through the valley of the Dades river. Near the town of Boulmane and following the courseof the river. We will enter the vertiginous Dades Gorge,and immediately we can see how the valley narrows, forming a beautiful gorge in the Atlas Mountains.Inside the gorge, between its reddish stone walls, we will see dozens of Kasbahs and unique geological formations. In the Tamlalt viewpoint, we can see that wind erosion has caused capricious shapes in the rocks, known as the Atlas brain or monkey fingers.At the exit of the gorges,we take the route towards the exuberant palm grove of the Todra river valley, located a short distance from the city of Tinehir. Following the road,we will reach the end of the valley. There are the famous Todra Gorges. A canyon with walls over 300 meters high that the Todra River has excavated for millennia.

Day 3
TodraGorges–Merzouga

After breakfast,we leave for Merzouga through pre-Saharan oases until we arrive at the Erg Chebbi dunes. The Sahara desert. We will leave the 4×4,and ride on dromedaries to enter the desert. From the top of the dunes we will see the sunset thatdoes not leave us indifferent. Typical Berber dinner, music around the fire and thousands of stars above our heads. We will sleep in a Berber tent.

Día 4
Merzouga –Ramlia

We will get up early to see the sunrise, then we will go to a hotel located at the foot of the dunes to have a good breakfast. At mid-morning with 4×4 we will follow the desert route until we reach the Ramlia oasis. Abeautiful oasis of palm trees in the southeast of the Sahara desert. 37 families live there, former nomads, all belong to the Ait Khebbach tribe. Part of the great Amazigh group of Ait Atta in southern Morocco. The people of Ramlia are very hospitable. We will spend the night in a hotel. In the heart of the desert and we will enjoy a traditional dinner enlivened with the sound of the tam-tam.

Day 5
Ramlia

Full day in Ramlia. There we will have the opportunity to see what life is like for the people in a traditional oasis. We will visit the palm grove where date palms . The traditional irrigation system that the first inhabitants built. “Water is life, without it there would be no Ramlia.” Bread making. The shops where the social life of the town takes place,where locals and visitors meet for tea. Green tea is the typical drink of the Sahara. It is drunk at any time,and it is customary to offer it to the visitor as a sign of hospitality.We will walk through the dunes of Ramlia. A lonely desert, only visited by locals and groups of nomadic families. We will go up to the extensive dunes to enjoy the silence and the sunset.Night at the hotel.

Day 6
Ramlia –Zagor

Breakfast at the hotel,and we will take the desert track that follows the Paris-Dakar rally route until we reach Zagora.Saharan landscapes: nomads with herds of camels and goats. Dunes and stony plains dotted with acacias. Dry rivers. Y salty lagoons.Night in hotel.

Day 7
Zagora –Agz-Ouarzazate

Zagora is a town located in the Draa River valley. This valley has a lot of date palms and fruit trees that extends to the sands of the Sahara. The DraaOasis is one of the largest in Morocco, covering from Zagora to the city of Agdz. We will have breakfast at the hotel in Zagora,and we will leave for Agdz which means “place of rest”. Agdzwas an important town during the ancient caravan route that linked Marrakech with Timbuktu. In the surroundings of Agdz is the kasbah of Tamnouglat, declared a World Heritage Site.
Night in Ouarzazate.

Day 8
Ouarzazate

At the established time transfer to Ouarzazate airport and end of our services.
