day 1
Tanger – Fez

Reception in Tangier and transfer to Fez to stay at the hotel.

day 2
Fez

After breakfast, a full day dedicated to the city of Fez, in the afternoon we will return to the hotel.Fez is the religious andcultural center of Morocco. The city has three areas: Fez el Bali, (the old area within the walls). Fez-Jdid, (the Jewish quarter, Mellah) and the Ville Nouvelle (northwest of the city).The Medina of Fez el Bali is one of the largest medieval sites in the world. The entire medina is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Its souks and alleys have not changed since the Middle Ages.-Medina of Fez el Bali. From the Bab Boujloud gate, we enter the souk through its narrow and labyrinthine streets. Inside the medina we will see:
  • The Bou Inania Madrasa, with its precious cedar wood works, stuccoes and decorations in marble and onyx.
  • The zaouïa of Moulay Idriss, founder of the city.
  • The Es-Sahrij madrasa.
  • The old Dar Batha building, dedicated to the arts and traditions of Fez.
  • Al-Karaouine University: one of the oldest in the world. Founded in 859 by Fatima Al-Fihri, daughter of Mohammed Al-Fhri, a wealthy merchant of those times.
  • The Chouwara Tannery, a spectacle of natural dyes that fill countless pits. Little has changed the dyeing system of camel, lamb, and ox leather since the Middle Ages.

Fez -Volubilis -Meknes -Rabat

Breakfast at the hotel,and then we will travel 200 km until we reach Rabat. On the way,we stopped to visit the Roman city of Volubilis. The most important archaeological site in Morocco. Inscribed in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. After the visit,of Volubilis, we will continue until we reach Meknes. One of the four imperial cities of Morocco, along with Fez, Marrakech and Rabat. Meknes was the capital of the Maghreb in the 17th century.We enter the Medina of Meknes through the amazing Bad el Mansour gate, built in 1732. We will walk through the souk. Likewise, we will see the historical and the Great Almoravid Mosque from the 12th century.After the visit we will leave for Rabat.Rabat is the capital of the Kingdom of Morocco, we will visit the historic center declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
-The Kasbah of the Udayas. The Kasbah is through the monumental Bad Udaya gate of Almohad architecture.
-The Tower of Hassan.
-The mausoleum of Sultan Mohamed Ben Yusef, also known as King Mohamed V. Night in hotel.

Rabat -Essaouira

After breakfast,we leave Rabat to Essaouira. A multicultural city overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Also known as “the pearl of the Atlantic”. Night at the hotel.

Essaouira

Essaouira, in the Berber language,is Amogdul. Full day to relaxed enjoy this beautiful city. The medina of Essaouira is one of the best preserved in Morocco, listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.”A walk through the medina and eating good fish, one of the pleasures of Essaouira”. Night in hotel.

Essaouira -Si di R’bat -Souss-Massa National Park -Agadir

After breakfast,we leave Essaouira, heading south, to Sidi R’bat, in the Souss Massa National Park. A route with spectacular cliffs, virgin beaches, argan forests … Landscapes of great beauty and preserved from mass tourism. On the way we will stop at Cape Ghir to contemplate one of the best views of the Atlantic Ocean and we will continue in the direction of Souss Massa Park. Listed as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO. There, there are up to 200 different species of birds; protected birds and someof them in danger of extinction. For example, the hermit Ibis bird or Bald Ibis. The park is a paradise for bird lovers as well as photography. Sous Massa is, without a doubt, one of those spaces that captivates those who like nature. Inside the park we will see the Sidi R’bat beach. Virgin beach with only a small nucleus of fishermen’s houses and inhabited by colonies of Bald Ibis birds. We will continue the route until we reach Agadir. City located between the Antiatlas and the Sahara Desert. Night in hotel.

Agadir – Marrakech

Breakfast and departure to Marrakech (250 km.).Free time. Night in hotel.

Recommendations:
-Visit to the Majorelle Gardens. Botanical gardens designed by French artist Jacques Majorelleand purchased in 1980 by fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent.
-Go to Jamaa el FnaSquare at sunset to watch from a café terrace. You will observe how little by little the square is filling up. With food stalls and illuminated by hundreds of lights. Then people gather for dinner.

day 8
Marrakech

Marrakech is one of the most importantcities in Morocco, located in the south of the country, at the foot of the Atlas.After breakfast, we will start the visit in the square of the Koutoubia mosque. Then we go to the Jamaa El Fna square, from here we enter the Medina, declared by UNESCO as aWorld Heritage Site. We visit the souk and the main places of historical interest. The Saadiane Tombs, the Medersa Ben Youssef, the El Badi Palace. At the exit of the Medina,we will have a mint tea in one of the terraces of the lively Jamaa el Fna square. Declared by UNESCO as Oral Heritage of Humanity. Everything in Marrakech revolves around the Jamaa el Fna square, in this public space gather: musicians, storytellers, snake charmers, dancers, dentists, fruit juice vendors, acrobats, writers, water carriers, medicinal herb vendors …Night at the hotel.

Marrakech -Ait Ben Haddou -Tamnougalt -Zagora

We will leave with 4 × 4 vehicles, crossing the Atlas through the Tizin Tichka mountain pass. We continue to the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. After the visit we are going to the Dra Valley. We will visit the kasbah of Tamnougalt. The important architectural complex and one of the most beautiful in southern Morocco. Here, the film director Bernardo Bertolucci filmed several scenes for the mythical film “The Sheltering Sky ”.”Tamnougalt” in the Berber language means “crossroads”. This place represented,in times past, a crossroads center for caravans of sub-Saharan Africa. At the exit,we take the direction of Zagora. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Zagora -Ramlia

During the day,we will tour one of the tracks used in the Paris-Dakar Rally. On the way through the desert, we will see some nomadic communities with their herds.Ramlia’s oasis. An oasis of palm trees in the Tafilalt region, located in the southeast of the Sahara. We will visit the palm grove and the canal that the first inhabitants of Ramlia built. “Without water, there is no life in the desert”. We can appreciate the hospitality that characterizes its people. The inhabitants of the Ramliaoasis are ancient nomads, all belonging to the Ayt Khebbach tribe of the Sahara desert.

Ramlia -Merzouga

We will get up early to admire the sunrise between the dunes. We will have breakfast and follow the route through the desert until we reach Merzouga. Known as «The door of the dunes». A small town located at the foot of the Great Erg Chebi, the Sahara desert. We will make an excursion with the camels to the great dunes of the desert. And we will enjoy an unforgettable sunset.”Climbing the dunes and watching the sunset and sunrise is an experience that will not leave you indifferent.” Night in a hotel located in the desert (possibility of sleeping in Haima).

Merzouga -Todra Gorges -Dades Gorges

After admiring the sunrise in the middle of the dunes. We will have breakfast and continue the journey to the impressive Todra Gorges. It is one of the most famous natural places in Morocco. The rock walls that delimit the gorges rise up to three hundred meters high. And separated in some section by twenty meters wide. From here we go to the gorges of the Dades River.Dinner and accommodation in a hotel located in the gorges.

The Dades Gorges -Marrakech

Breakfast and departure to the Dades Gorges. The route passes through the Berber villages of Boutaghar and Skoura, located in the heart of the palm grove of the Dades River.We continue the route through the arid Dades Valley. A spectacular landscape with kashabs that seem to be born from the same mountain. The passage of the river has created dizzying gorges and green oases of date palms. We entered the Dades Gorges,located north of the city of Boulmane. We will arrive at the Tamlat viewpoint, there the rocks have curious shapes due to the erosion of the wind, known as “Monkey fingers”.In the afternoon,we will continue the route of the High Atlas mountains to Marrakech. “The city of the Thousand and One Nights”.
